Day 87 – Why is 80 (or is it 75) Magical
An easy question for Gloria, I am sure she will shine on the answer.
Dear Gloria,
If, on June 29th, PayPal feels that “it has not received a cancellation notice from the buyer’s credit card company.”
Than what happens?
Sincerely,
A Beleaguered PayPal Victim
For good measure, we also ask Matt what happens at the end of this magical period, as Gloria, has a tendency to be a little flighty in her answers.
Dear Matt,
Two points from your statement.
[First a little re-education]
1. You refer to the credit card company “ultimately making a decision”. There is no ‘decision’ for the credit card company to make. The Buyer – the credit card’s client – has instructed the credit card company to proceed with the cancellation for the chargeback. There is a document trail to show this.
2. What happens at the end of 75 days? Do you then finally walk up to your supervisor and say “well golly gee Beaver, looking at the facts and documentation on this one; it looks like we’d better call Citibank and sort this one out”.
Or do you just automatically mark the case as closed, like last time. I then remind you of the facts … you depress the dispute button again. And suggest we wait another 75 days?
Sincerely
A Beleaguered PayPal Victim
P.S. You keep referring to the online Help. Have you read it? It really does not cover the situation…?
Very true! Makes a change to see someone spell it out like that.
