We finally receive a positive confirmation message which confirms that PayPal has received the documents [affidavit] we sent to PayPal.

[of course I am guessing they mean the affidavit. PayPal just refers to the wonderfully vague phrase of "documents".]

The documents have been successfully attached to your PayPal Account and will be reviewed shortly.

We review documents in the order in which they are received and generally require 3 to 5 business days to process these documents. Once we process your documents, we will contact you about the status of your PayPal Account.

So from the day we sent first sent the documents, plus the up to five days to read the fax (it was three pages long), it takes the PayPal Chargeback Division a grand total of THIRTEEN Days to process a fax. I am sure their manager must be proud of such efficiency.

Just for one last laugh of the day, I check the online PayPal Resolution Center. It does show documents received. Of course there is no way to see what documents have been received, as the poorly designed interface just displays them as “Fax Set 0018D0E9″.

Of course the status of these documents is the eternally warm and fuzzy “Waiting for Fax”. Oh PayPal, how you love to reassure your customers.
