Day 67 – IT is hard
Lucky I checked, as that evening a note come from Matt stating that PayPal cannot receive attachments to emails … so no, they did not get copy of the affidavit we sent them.
Dear Beleaguered PayPal Victim,
Thank you for contacting PayPal.
Unfortunately, PayPal cannot accept attachments for both your protection and ours. Please fax this information to the PayPal Chargeback Department at 1-402-537-5755 and be sure to reference your case number.
We know situations like this can be difficult, so thanks for working with us. If you have more questions, visit our Help Center by clicking “Help” in the top right corner of any PayPal page.
Sincerely,
Matt
PayPal Chargeback Division
PayPal, where IT is really hard.
How pathetic. Now anyone who has working in IT knows that attachments to emails can be carry all sorts of nasties, and pose definable security risks. But imagine if your CIO said, “it has come to our attention that dealing with the issue of email attachments is very difficult … so we have decided to just not bother…”
If anyone is thinking of hiring a new CISO, and the resume of a one ‘Michael Barrett’ (PayPals CISO) comes across there desk, they should probably just skip that candidate and move on to the next one….
Hey, good to find smoneoe who agrees with me. GMTA.
