We fax our documentation package to PayPal.  It includes a summary of events as well as 4 documents:

  • A copy of the original proposal
  • The Invoice from us to the client.
  • A copy of the email from the client confirming that we had been paid (with headers)
  • A signed letter from the client admitting that the chargeback was in error

The faxes sent show up on the PayPal site as Fax Set 00163474.  It is disconcerting that the “Status” shows on the PayPal Website as “Waiting for Fax”.  Subsequent events indicate that the fax was received and we also have the fax sent notification from our online fax company as proof, but it would be nice if a $5bn company knew how to write a proper Status Message.
